Board Gaming with Education

Feb 10, 2020

In this episode of Board Gaming with Education, Dustin sits down with Christienne Hinz, who he met at IndieCade, an independent games festival over the Summer. Christienne is a history professor at Southern Illinois University where she incorporates gamification and world-building elements into the classes she teaches. The two discuss the challenges of introducing game-based learning to a classroom and share tips on effectively implementing such programs. An avid DnD player, Christienne also shares her path to getting into games based education, meeting members of the pre-existing gamification community, and her hesitation to start the process of introducing games to her large classrooms. We also learn a few fun facts about Christienne on the way.
